SeaQurrent is a Dutch renewable energy company that has developed the TidalKite system to harness tidal currents for electricity generation. Through the BlueInvest Fundraising Assistance Programme, SeaQurrent was matched with fundraising experts who provided pitch training and guidance on subsidy proposals. Following a successful investment round, the TidalKite underwent testing near the island of Ameland and is expected to deliver power to approximately 700 households by the end of the year.

The TidalKite system operates underwater in figure-eight motions, using multiple wings to capture energy over a wide area and drive a hydro motor connected to a generator. With support from BlueInvest’s equity and proposal expertise, SeaQurrent plans to expand into European markets including Ireland, France, and the United Kingdom, aiming to double the tidal energy sector’s capacity by complementing existing renewable technologies.
