The H730 is an automatic-shifting internally geared hub motor that integrates Bafang’s patented Gear Variable Transmission (GVT) with a 250 W rear-wheel drive unit. Its built-in three-speed gearbox shifts seamlessly based on bicycle speed, delivering up to 50 Nm of torque and adhering to a 25 km/h limit in line with European e-bike regulations. A torque sensor and smart controller continuously analyze pedal input to minimize lag and provide smooth acceleration, making the H730 particularly suited for urban commuting. The enclosed design eliminates external derailleurs, cables, and manual shifters, enhancing durability in wet or muddy conditions and reducing maintenance needs.
Operating on a nominal 36 V system and weighing 3.6 kg, the H730 is optimized for eCity and minimalist-frame bicycles. Its IPX6-rated housing protects against rain, mud, and debris, while compatibility with belt-drive systems and a range of sprocket options (16 T to 22 T) supports diverse drivetrain configurations. Since the introduction of GVT technology in 2022, more than 40 global e-bike brands have adopted Bafang’s internally geared solutions. Bafang positions the H730 as a platform for shared-bike fleets, folding bicycles, and long-life urban mobility systems, all benefiting from its streamlined rear-end design and automated shifting capability.
