The Al Ain Region has taken a big step in agricultural innovation with the launch of Silal’s Innovation Oasis (iO), a research and development center focused on new technology for farming. This facility supports the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051 by helping to create more sustainable and reliable farming methods for the country’s future.

Covering over “300,000 square metres, the Innovation Oasis is designed to bring together researchers, business leaders, startups, and academics.” Its goal is to encourage teamwork and new ideas that make farming more climate-resilient, efficient, and productive.

The center features modern laboratories, growth chambers, and equipment for testing and developing new farming technologies. It also includes greenhouses, net-houses, and open fields where different farming methods can be tried and improved. With these resources, Silal’s Innovation Oasis provides a strong platform for inventing and testing advanced solutions to support the UAE’s goal of long-term food security.
