The S.H.A.R.E. Community Development Corp (SCDC) finalized a contractual agreement with Sweco Finland, a subsidiary of Sweco Group—Europe’s leading engineering and architecture consultancy with over 25,000 professionals and more than 130 years of experience in sustainable urban planning. The partnership is intended to leverage Sweco’s global expertise in precast concrete product engineering and greener design practices to advance SCDC’s mission of delivering affordable, high-quality multifamily housing across the United States. By combining SCDC’s development model with Sweco’s capacity for strategic planning and circular-economy solutions, both organizations aim to set new benchmarks for sustainable infrastructure and community-focused urban growth.

Under the agreement, Sweco will contribute its full spectrum of services—from concept design through practical implementation—to enhance the sustainability, resilience, and efficiency of SCDC’s residential projects. Key priorities include integrating low-carbon precast manufacturing processes, optimizing material reuse, and embedding lifecycle-oriented environmental standards into every stage of the building process. This collaboration is structured to accelerate project delivery timelines, reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, and ensure that new developments meet the highest social and ecological performance criteria, thereby reinforcing SCDC’s goal of revolutionizing housing quantity and quality in underserved communities.
