Manila Electric Company (Meralco) entered into a memorandum of understanding with V-Green Global Charging Station Development Corporation and Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (Green GSM) to jointly develop electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure across Metro Manila and other key cities. Under the agreement, Meralco will leverage its distribution network and project management capabilities, while V-Green and Green GSM will contribute their expertise in EV charging systems and electric ride-hailing services, respectively.
The partners will collaborate on site identification and evaluation for public charging stations and electric taxi hubs, support the efficient and sustainable rollout of charging networks, and explore opportunities to scale up EV adoption. The MOU also covers technical cooperation and knowledge exchange on EV technologies and system design, aligning with the goals of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act to advance low-carbon mobility solutions in the Philippines.
