The ENCORE Conference, hosted by the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Sheda), was held on August 22, 2025, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching. Conceived as a knowledge‐forward platform, the conference brought together industry professionals, academics and policymakers to explore sustainable innovation in property development. Key sessions addressed strategies for low-carbon and inclusive township design, advances in green building materials and approaches to simplify sustainable financing, with United Overseas Bank Singapore presenting on funding mechanisms. In conjunction with the conference launch, Sheda unveiled its new institute logo to underscore a commitment to independent research and sector-wide collaboration.

Government support for the initiative was affirmed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who highlighted the conference’s role as a nexus between aspiration, academia and industrial application. Sheda president Augustine CH Wong used the occasion to advocate for expanded access to the Levy Trust Fund’s housing deposit assistance and proposed amendments to Sarawak’s housing development ordinances to accelerate project delivery and affordability. The event also recognized excellence in industry participation, awarding Lafrowda Sdn Bhd for corporate image, Elica Sdn Bhd for creativity and Lee Onn Development Sdn Bhd as best overall exhibitor.
