British rock band Coldplay has announced plans to re-release their entire discography as EcoRecords—a sustainable alternative to traditional vinyl. The initiative, developed in collaboration with Warner Music Group (WMG), will transform every Coldplay album into an environmentally conscious format using recycled materials and low-emission manufacturing techniques.
Each EcoRecord will be a clear, 140g disc made from recycled PET plastic bottles and produced using an injection molding process that significantly reduces carbon emissions—by as much as 85% compared to conventional vinyl production. According to WMG, each record contains the equivalent of nine post-consumer recycled bottles, which are collected, cleaned, and turned into pellets before being remanufactured into high-quality audio formats.
This full-catalog reissue builds on the success of Coldplay’s 2024 album Moon Music, which became the first album ever released as a 100% recycled PET EcoRecord.
