Oriana Power Limited has entered a Memorandum of Understanding with Invest Alberta Corporation to explore and develop renewable energy projects in Alberta. Under the agreement, both parties will jointly pursue the creation of a vertically integrated clean-energy complex, with Oriana initially considering phased investments between USD 300 million and USD 500 million. Subject to the identification of viable projects, this investment may scale to USD 1 billion over five years, marking a key step in Oriana’s global expansion strategy and Alberta’s shift toward a low-carbon energy economy.
Invest Alberta Corporation will support Oriana by facilitating navigation of provincial programs, optimizing collaboration with the Alberta government, connecting with domestic and international stakeholders, and partnering with post-secondary institutions to cultivate a skilled workforce. Oriana Power, headquartered in India, currently operates 500 MW of solar assets and aims to reach 2 GW by the end of next year. Its portfolio also includes battery energy storage systems, green hydrogen facilities, and compressed biogas projects, underscoring its focus on utility-scale renewables and sustainable energy infrastructure development.
