Clean the Sky – Kerbside Recycling Projects

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

The National Cup Recycling Scheme is launching a £45,000 fund to back innovative projects that improve the collection and recycling of on-the-go paper cups or boost their inclusion in kerbside recycling programs. Supported by major brands like Costa Coffee, McDonald’s, Pret a Manger, Caffè Nero, Lavazza Professional, Greggs, and Burger King, the scheme unites retailers, waste managers, and UK paper mills to increase cup recycling. The competition opens in September, with winners set to be announced in December.

“This new fund is a major investment to encourage innovation in cup recycling infrastructure and reuse. We are hoping to trigger scalable ideas that will make a real difference in the future,” said Hannah Osman, manager of the National Cup Recycling Scheme.
