Saudia Dairy and Foodstuff Company (SADAFCO) and Hyperview Logistics Company, a subsidiary of Hyperview Mobility (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., have signed a non‐binding memorandum of understanding to advance hydrogen‐powered delivery logistics in Saudi Arabia. The agreement seeks to integrate hydrogen fuel cell vehicles into SADAFCO’s distribution network, aiming to lower carbon emissions and improve operational efficiency across the company’s supply chain. This collaboration represents one of the first large‐scale partnerships in the Kingdom focused specifically on deploying zero‐emission logistics solutions.
The initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s sustainability targets, under which SADAFCO plans to achieve a zero‐carbon fleet by 2045 and transition 90 percent of its delivery vehicles to clean energy sources by 2035. Initial phases will involve piloting hydrogen‐powered trucks in select regions, complementing existing trials of electric vehicles, with a view to refining refueling infrastructure and operational protocols before broader rollout. Stakeholders anticipate that the project will serve as a model for other major logistics operators in the region.
