Irish startup Tao Climate presents an innovative solution to the aviation industry’s mounting regulatory pressures with its hemp-based carbon removal platform. Included in the European Union’s InvestEU program, the company’s technology combines regenerative agriculture with construction material innovation.
Tao Climate’s carbon removal platform utilizes industrial hemp cultivation to sequester atmospheric CO2, which is then permanently stored in hempcrete building products. This approach addresses two critical challenges facing airlines under tightening EU greenwashing regulations — the need for verifiable carbon removal and transparent measurement through Tao Climate’s API platform.
The solution’s credibility is bolstered by endorsements from major technology and space organizations, positioning it as a scientifically grounded alternative to traditional carbon offset programs that have drawn increasing scrutiny. Tao Climate’s upcoming demonstration at Dublin’s premier aviation events will provide tangible evidence of its process.
