Clean the Sky – Funded Energy Projects

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

Rock Tech Lithium Inc. has secured significant conditional support for its green energy project from government-backed export credit agencies. The company announced that UK Export Finance (UKEF) and the Finnish export credit agency (Finnvera) have expressed interest in providing up to EUR 150 million in support for its Guben Converter project. This conditional, non-binding financial backing is structured to supplement a senior debt tranche from the European Investment Bank and is contingent upon the successful completion of due diligence. The support from these agencies reflects confidence in the project’s business case and its role in bolstering Europe’s green energy transition.

The Guben Converter is envisioned as a commercial lithium hydroxide refinery located in Guben, Brandenburg, Germany. The facility is designed to produce approximately 24,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium hydroxide annually—an output that is sufficient to supply over 500,000 electric vehicles. Advanced crystallization technologies will be employed to ensure high-purity production while minimizing environmental impact. In addition to its role in strengthening Europe’s battery supply chain, the project is expected to support regional economic development through job creation and the localization of key supply chain components.
