VCI Global Limited announced on August 20, 2025, the launch of VCI Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to clean energy infrastructure. Victor Lee, formerly Managing Director at Franklin Templeton, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of VCI Energy, bringing extensive experience in institutional investment and infrastructure financing. The subsidiary will focus on capital-efficient opportunities in renewable energy generation, next-generation battery and microgrid systems, and sovereign-scale infrastructure projects, extending VCI Global’s cross-sector platform into the rapidly expanding clean energy sector.
VCI Energy’s initial strategy targets three high-growth verticals: clean energy generation and storage, sovereign energy infrastructure aligned with national digital and AI strategies, and strategic partnerships with governments, utilities and institutional investors across Asia Pacific and beyond. The clean energy infrastructure market is forecast to grow at a 9.3 percent compound annual growth rate, reaching approximately USD 1.5 trillion by 2033, positioning VCI Energy to support the global energy transition, enhance energy resilience and deliver long-term value for investors.
