The Grand Angle car park in Voiron, France, is now open and marks a major step in the city’s efforts to create a greener, more walkable center. Developed by Astron Mobility, this four-storey building is designed to move cars off the streets, making more space for pedestrians, cyclists, and public life.
Designed by “architect BARBEYER and the Arcadis engineering team, in partnership with local builder CHANUT, the car park offers 239 spaces.” More importantly, it features “1,250 m² of solar panels, helping to generate clean energy for its operations.” In addition, green façades, wide access points, and natural lighting make the space pleasant and energy-efficient.
Moreover, the car park supports soft mobility goals. It includes secure bike storage, with plans for a repair workshop and a space for community events. Overall, Grand Angle is more than a parking facility—it’s part of Voiron’s vision for a cleaner, more people-friendly city.
