Southern California’s Clean Power Alliance (CPA) — the state’s largest community choice green energy provider — announced the launch of a Clean Energy Innovation Solicitation. This program invites early-stage companies and projects to propose emerging clean energy technologies or novel business models that don’t fit traditional utility procurement but could accelerate California’s decarbonization. The solicitation, open as of May 27, 2025, will run two review cycles over the next year for tech-focused proposals and accept business model ideas on a rolling basis.
CPA’s goal is to identify breakthrough solutions in areas like renewable generation, energy storage, grid management, or customer programs that could enhance its clean power portfolio or operations. Winners might receive letters of support, pilot agreements, or other forms of collaboration with CPA. CEO Ted Bardacke likened the open call to ‘reimagining how clean energy can be produced, delivered and experienced,’ aiming to tap bold ideas that can scale and bring community benefits.
