Original story:

Influencer Caitlin Covington doesn’t know if she can bring her all for fall this year.

“I don’t know how I’m going to tell you guys, but I’m not going to be able to post fall videos this year,” Covington, 35, shared in a Tuesday, August 19, TikTok video. “It’s just a lot of pressure and … it’s just a lot of pressure to make each video better than the last, to make each fall trip better. I just really need a break this year and I’m really sorry.”

Covington, known for being the face of the “Christian Girl Autumn” meme, went on in the caption to say that “this is the hardest post” she has “ever had to make.”

“Will post another update soon … ” she wrote.

Covington began posting about her love for autumn in a blog as a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the 2010s. She gained viral fame in 2019 when X user Blizzy Mcguire shared photos from Covington’s blog of her and her friend in fall clothes with the caption, “Hot Girl Summer is coming to an end, get ready for Christian Girl Autumn.”

Since the “Christian Girl Autumn” meme went viral, Covington started planning fall outfits and trips every year to share with her 1.3 million Instagram followers.

Last year, Covington did mention that she feels “pressure” during fall because she feels like “everyone looks to [her] for fall content.”

“So I try to hold myself to a certain standard and brainstorm new creative ideas,” she told People in September 2024. “I spend hours researching and planning outfits for fall. There’s a lot of pressure, and I want my videos and pictures to be well received.”

Covington revealed that her “outfit planning is probably the most time-consuming part.”

“We review various retailers, place orders and then I spend hours trying on different outfits,” she explained to the outlet. “I’ll find an outfit that fits that theme, pack it down to a tee — including sunglasses, socks, everything — and then wear it on the trip. It’s probably around 100 hours of work that goes into each trip.”

While Covington initially started her blog solo, some of her trips and her photos now include her husband, Chris Dorsch, and their two kids.

“My husband was initially skeptical about my fall obsession,” she told People. “He was like, ‘It’s whatever, Caitlin, this is your thing.’ But after joining us on his first fall trip to Vermont last year, his perspective changed. He said, ‘I get it now; I understand why you love fall.’ … On the trip, his main role is mainly to help with luggage and the kids, and to support me.”
