The Lava and HMD smartphones have been announced by the brands as a series of devices that will enable users to enjoy content streaming without the need for Internet or WiFi connectivity, The handsets make use of Direct-to-Mobile (D2M) technology that enables the devices to receive signals and stream content without the need for a cellular or wireless connection. The phones will thus provide access to broadcast TV channels to make them a great option for consumers to consider as a way to enjoy content without having to worry about data limits.

The Lava and HMD smartphones will be showcased at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 that’s taking place at the Jim World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India from May 1 to 4, 2025.
