Indian Shoemaker, Bridlen, is now available for a short period on the website of famous shoe-care stockist and YouTube presenter, Kirby Allison. This collaboration marks a strong investment for the Indian shoemaker to penetrate the US market through a trusted name and one of the industry’s pioneers. Those who might have been keen to try the shoes out but have a feeling about online buying through international companies can now rest assured that your purchase is protected through a US company.
The ‘Bridlen at Kirby Allison’ capsule collection comprises 12 classic models, ranging from smart leather oxfords to more casual suede derbies and even some unlined loafers. Sadly, no boots are available in this collaborative offering, but at least a foot in the door is achievable. The stock is not readily available per se, as they promise the shoes to be made and shipped within 6 weeks as more of a ‘Made to Order’ purchase. Because of the MTO status, the shoes are presented as non-refundable but can be exchanged and shipped back to a US address for exchange.
The Bridlen at Kirby Allison collaboration is labeled a ‘virtual trunk show’ so to speak. That is really the first of its kind and quite a smart idea. We live in this new virtual world where travel is quite costly, especially when having to carry/ship shoes. I know as I used to do it all of the time and often spent more money shipping the goods than the actual plane ticket. If one can achieve a similar result online and save time and money, I think that it is a great idea!
The fact that it is a ‘trunk show’ though means that it is not forever ongoing. This collaboration will last just a few weeks. I do not have a specific end date but best not to wait too long before making your purchase if that is something you are considering.
