Two crime scenes have been set up after a woman and child were found dead at a Logan home – shortly after a wounded man ran into a nearby supermarket.

Queensland Police were called to the supermarket on Beaudesert Beenleigh Road at Bannockburn about 7.30am on Thursday following reports of a wounded man. 

Subsequent investigations indicated the injured man had run to the location from a Belivah address.

Police attended the home, where the bodies of a woman and child were found.

The man is currently receiving medical treatment and will assist police with their investigations.

Police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the community.

‘Investigations continue and there is no further information at this time,’ a police statement read.
