Studio Terpeluk has introduced a look at the newly renovated Redwood House — it was originally designed by Albert Lanier in 1974. The home already had a deep design influence as Lanier’s style is joined by the immersive use of redwood materials and geometric aesthetics.
The team also ensured that it paid close attention to the natural surroundings of the home as well, taking in the layered architectural landscape of the bustling San Fran city. The studio approached the renovation to preserve a lot of the design so that the character of the residence remains. The challenge was to engage with the home’s DNA and not replace it. It has then extended it into a more modern lens.
