Art-Infused Workwear : Nepenthes Capsule

The Nicholas Daley Nepenthes capsule transforms everyday workwear into a textured tribute to craft and culture. Created in collaboration with Kozaburo and Engineered Garments, the collection features hand-crocheted bucket hats, chore jackets with visible patchwork stitching, graphic tees, bold bandanas, and knitted accessories—all woven with narrative depth and subcultural symbolism.

The iconic Workaday jacket is reinterpreted with Daley’s heritage lens, pairing Japanese and Afro-Caribbean references with layered textures and artisanal details. Yin-yang prints, reggae iconography, and screen-printed scarf designs introduce a sense of rhythm and visual tension. Functional silhouettes are softened by handmade flourishes, showing Daley’s continued exploration of identity through garment construction.

To complement the apparel, the capsule includes knitted plant holders, incense developed with New Way of Life, and curated objects that turn the release into a lifestyle vignette. The result is a grounded, emotionally rich collection available now at Nepenthes NY and Daley’s webstore.
