AMD’s stock falls after earnings, despite upbeat guidance. Here’s what to know.

AMD’s partnership with OpenAI was a major topic for investors going into the chip maker’s Tuesday afternoon earnings call, and CEO Lisa Su did end up providing some updates.

For one, AMD is still on track to start deploying its upcoming Instinct MI450 series of AI accelerators and Helios rack-scale offering with OpenAI starting in the second half of the year.

But while AMD is “optimistic” about its work with OpenAI, Su said she wanted “to remind everyone that we have a broad set of customers that are very excited about the MI450 series,” and the company is working to ramp its systems with those customers in the same time frame.
