It’s less than a week until Amazon’s Prime Day sales event begins, and ahead of the official start on July 8, Amazon is offering exclusive discounts on its Kindle Essentials bundles to Prime members. If you’re looking to upgrade your Kindle or get your first one, these bundles are worth considering.
Right now on Amazon, you can snag a Kindle Essentials Bundle for $122, saving you $40 off its regular price of $162. This bundle includes the base Kindle model (2024), a fabric cover for it, and a power adapter for the wall — everything you need to get started reading anywhere.
If you’re interested in a higher-end Kindle model, Amazon also has the Kindle Paperwhite Essentials Bundle on sale for $155, saving you $62 off its regular price of $217. This bundle includes the Kindle Paperwhite (2024), a fabric cover, and a power adapter.
Both of these deals are exclusive to Prime members, so as long as you’re subscribed and logged in, you’ll be able to take advantage of either of these Kindle Bundle deals.

How to get two free Kindle e-books this July as a Prime member
As an Amazon Prime member, you can claim two free Kindle e-books in July. Here’s how.
Should you choose the base Kindle or the Kindle Paperwhite?
The Paperwhite has a few upgrades over the base Kindle
Both Kindle Essentials Bundle deals from Amazon offer good value, but the real question is: which one is better for you?
If you’re new to e-reading and this will be your first Kindle device, I recommend starting with the basic Kindle Essentials Bundle for $122. It includes everything you need to begin reading on a Kindle for the first time. This was the first Kindle I ever bought, and I’ve loved using it. It features a 6-inch glare-free display, 16GB of storage, and up to six weeks of battery life.
On the other hand, the Kindle Paperwhite offers several upgrades over the basic Kindle, which may justify spending the extra money. Notably, the Paperwhite features a larger 7-inch glare-free display, a bigger battery that can last up to 12 weeks, and, most importantly, it’s waterproof with an IPX8 rating. So, if you plan to use your Kindle by the pool or at the beach this summer, the Paperwhite might be the best choice because of its waterproof feature. If you like the sound of the rest of the upgrades the Paperwhite has to offer, then it may be the model to choose. However, if they all seem minimal to you, the base Kindle is the way to go.
Both the Kindle Essentials Bundle and the Kindle Paperwhite Essentials Bundle are on sale now, exclusively for Prime members, ahead of Prime Day. Amazon’s Prime Day sales event starts on July 8 and runs through July 11. Keep an eye on Pocket-lint for more deals as Prime Day approaches and begins.
