I love always-on displays, and it’s high time they debut on PC

These days, always-on displays are commonplace on mobile – I’d love to see Windows PCs get in on the AOD action, too.

You can create a quad-display setup on the go

If you frequently travel, this may be the monitor solution you’ve been waiting for

The Aura Triple Boost 14 Pro is constructed entirely from premium aluminum and remarkably weighs only about 4.85 lbs (2.2 kg). If you’re wondering how all those screens stay upright without wobbling, it’s thanks to the built-in kickstand, which stabilizes the monitors and allows you to adjust the viewing angles. When not in use, it can be folded down to make it easier to travel with, as seen in the video above.

According to Tech Radar, the magic behind the Triple Boost 14 Pro is Aura’s Tri-Link technology, which uses a custom SiliconMotion chipset to power and provide video for all three displays through a single USB-C cable, eliminating the need to worry about fiddling with additional cables or adapters.

The 1080p LED displays cover 100 percent of the sRGB color space, each offering 300 nits of brightness. Aura highlights coding, graphic design, 3D animation, video editing, and photo editing as productivity tasks enhanced by using its triple-monitor extender.

The Aura Triple Boost 14 Pro is compatible with macOS, Windows, Android, and Linux. If you’re interested in pre-ordering it, you can do so now at Aura’s website for $469, which is 28 percent off its regular price of $649. It’s expected to begin shipping later this month.

Whenever I’m traveling for work, I always miss my multi-monitor setup back at home, so I can see the value of a product like this, especially if you travel extremely frequently. Out of all the wacky laptop monitor extensions I’ve seen, this one looks surprisingly usable, but it might be best to wait and see what reviews say before purchasing it.
