Cazzie David Used MDMA Therapy for Relationship ‘Clarity’

Cazzie David once used MDMA therapy to find “clarity” on a long-term relationship giving her doubts.

“I was recommended to do this MDMA journey with my therapist. And she was like, ‘It helps people make choices,’” Cazzie, daughter of comedian Larry David and film producer Laurie David, said on the Tuesday, March 24, episode of Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny but Not Fat” podcast.

“It helps you, like, come into your, like, spirituality and like, who you are at your core,” Cazzie, 31, continued. “And I was like, ‘OK.’”

Cazzie admitted she had “done cocaine” in the past and “didn’t feel anything,” so she expected her experience with MDMA to be the same.

“And if a therapist is giving it to me, it can’t be that crazy. You know, if anything, I thought I would have to fake having some kind of grand insight to not make her feel bad,” Cazzie joked.

“Anyways, we did it, and I like tripped out,” Cazzie continued, explaining that the session happened at her house. “I ended up in her lap … holding both hands. She was like, ‘I have to go to the bathroom.’ I was like, ‘No, you’re not allowed to go to the bathroom. No, no, no, you can’t leave.’”

“It was like, about my true fear of being in my 30s and like, what I want to do with this long-term relationship or in all of these different things. … It was just crazy,” she concluded.
