A track star at Concordia University, Nebraska, was killed in a head-on car crash that also injured three of his teammates.
Matthew Wing, 22, died in the crash which took place last week in Harrisonville, Missouri. Three other Concordia student-athletes were rushed to the hospital.
As reported by KOLN-TV, Wing was driving a Toyota Prius when it collided head-on into a Ford Explorer shortly before 10.30pm.
‘Our Concordia Nebraska family is heartbroken,’ the university said in a statement.
‘We ask for your prayers during this time, for our campus and for the family and friends of the young men involved in this accident, that we can all find comfort in God’s love and healing grace.’
The 30-year-old driver of the Explorer was also rushed to the hospital following the collision, according to reports.

Wing is survived by his wife, Bri Worley – whom he married in May, 2025 – as well as his parents, sister, brother and grandparents.
Wing met his wife while on a church trip to Worlds of Fun, a theme park in Kansas City, back in 2018.
‘Their friendship turned into love and on May 24, 2025, Matt and Brianna were married. They were blessed to have had each other in their lives for the last seven and a half years,’ his obituary read.
Before joining Concordia, where he majors in Secondary Education and Public Health and Fitness, Wing set his high school 100m record and also competed in cross country, basketball and football.
