A Colorado middle school secretary is currently on the run after being accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old student.
Brenda Meza, 34, is being hunted by officers with the Greeley Police Department after she vanished from her home in the city last month.
Police said they received a report about the alleged abuse on February 12 but attempts to find her have been unsuccessful.
An investigation determined that she engaged in ‘continuous sexual abuse’ of the teenager for several months, police said in a statement.
She is currently wanted on several felony charges, they added.
School District 6 confirmed that Meza was previously employed at Franklin Middle School as a secretary.
The school serves around 600 students in grades six through eight.

Meza was previously employed at Franklin Middle School, seen here, as a secretary before she was placed on leave and then subsequently fired in late February
The district said she was employed in February of 2020, helped with clubs and was the school’s cross country coach.
She was placed on administrative leave on February 12 and then fired from her role on February 25, the district said.
Police in Colorado believe she may have fled the state to avoid prosecution.
Anyone with information relating to her whereabouts is asked to contact Greeley Police on 970-502-2186.
