A Nevada man has sued Golden Corral and three of its employees, who he claims attacked him and stabbed him with a fork after accusing him of not paying his bill.
Gary Sellinger said in a lawsuit filed Tuesday that the incident occurred on February 2, 2025, while he and two friends were dining at a Golden Corral in Henderson, about 18 miles southwest of Las Vegas.
Jamie Crafts, an employee of the buffet-style restaurant, approached their table about 20 minutes into their meal and accused them of skipping out on the check, according to the lawsuit.
When Sellinger said he had a receipt showing he paid for all three people, Crafts got more aggressive and demanded they leave, the suit said.
As Sellinger stood up to hand over his silverware, another employee, Michael Strang, grabbed him ‘by his neck and slammed him into the table,’ the suit alleged.
More restaurant employees allegedly joined in the altercation, causing Sellinger to fall to the ground and hit his head, the lawsuit said.
During the alleged attack, Sellinger was hit, kicked and stabbed with a fork, leaving him with ‘irreversible injuries,’ according to the lawsuit.
He now has a traumatic brain injury, according to the lawsuit, as well as scratches and stab wounds. The lawsuit does not specify where he was stabbed but said he had injuries all over his body.

Gary Sellinger, a 59-year-old Nevada man, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday claiming he was violently assaulted last year by employees at this Golden Corral restaurant in Henderson, Nevada

Keith Galliher, Sellinger’s attorney, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the brain injury came from him striking his head on a chair when he was allegedly tackled to the ground.
Galliher claims to have photos of Sellinger’s injuries but declined to provide them to the Daily Mail.
A spokesperson from the Henderson Police Department told the Review-Journal that officers were called to the Golden Corral at 6:08pm on the day of the incident.
A police report obtained by the outlet showed that officers investigated the altercation but made no arrests.
The lawsuit named a number of corporate entities as defendants – including BLH, LLC; BB Hospitality, LLC; Heinz Enterprises, LLC; and NV GC, LLC – as well as the restaurant’s general manager, Amy Bearden.
The complaint alleged that Bearden, Golden Corral and the corporate defendants were negligent in their hiring of the employees who were said to have assaulted Sellinger.
Sellinger is seeking general, special and punitive damages in excess of $15,000 each. He also wants to be reimbursed for his legal costs.
Efforts to reach Bearden, Strang and Crafts for comment were unsuccessful.
