Riot police were forced to shut down a party after 500 teenagers gatecrashed a 16th birthday which left the quiet Sydney street in chaos.
Cops were called to a house on Bounty Ave in Kirrawee, in the city’s south, about 7.15pm on Friday after the girl’s Sweet 16 party spiralled wildly out of control with hundreds of uninvited guests showing up.
As police tried to shut the party down, some teens threw bottles and cans of alcohol at officers who then in turn deployed capsicum spray.
Three 16-year-old boys were arrested and released without charge.
Shocking footage obtained by Nine News showed one officer crash tackling a boy to the ground after he threw a can of alcohol towards officers.
The boy had his head smashed into the ground several times as officers tried to pin him down, with NSW Police saying he had ‘resisted arrest’.
A male police officer was also seen shoving a girl to the ground.
‘Officers arrested a 16-year-old boy at the location after he allegedly threw a full can of alcohol at an officer. During the arrest police will further allege that the boy resisted officers,’ NSW Police said in a statement.

The police helicopter circling the Sydney suburb used a spotlight and projected it onto the streets to try and break up the party.
‘There were no reports of any injuries,’ a police statement read.
Shocked neighbours recalled watching the masses of teenagers flee the scene.
‘There were a few people climbing over their neighbours’ fence here to get in and out of the party,’ Aedan Byrne said.
Anyone who was in the area at the time, has dashcam or CCTV footage, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
