A Fairytale For Grown-Ups’ Shifts To June Release

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has been pulled from its March release date and will now debut worldwide in June.

KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations today said in a statement that they shifted the release date in response to the conflict in the Middle East. The film will now debut on June 4th.

“After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with you all on the 19th of March. However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience,” the two companies said in a statement.

“Therefore, in the interest of our partners and our audience, we have made the difficult but carefully considered decision to reschedule our release. We thank you for your understanding and patience and look forward to your continued love and support.”

Geethu Mohandas directed Toxic from a screenplay she co-wrote with Yash. The film’s synopsis reads: Set in a bygone era, this gripping tale unfolds in the coastal paradise of Goa, where a powerful drug cartel pulls the strings behind a facade of sun-soaked beaches and vibrant culture.

The MENA region will be a big market for Toxic. Curiously, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar sequel is sticking to its March 19 release date. However, the sequel has been banned in several Middle East countries due to what censors described as Islamophobic content.
