A mother is dead after an apparent shooting incident at her family’s Ohio home.
At around 2:30 a.m. local time on Monday, Feb. 16, the Tipp City Police Department was dispatched to the 900 block of Cunningham Court in Tipp City, having received reports of a burglary in progress and a shooting, Tipp City Police Department noted in a press release reviewed by PEOPLE.
Officers arrived at the scene to find Ashley Flynn fatally wounded, while her husband and two children were also at the home, but uninjured.
There appeared to be no signs of forced entry into the residence, CBS News reported, citing Tipp City Police Chief Greg Adkins. However, initial investigations suggest Flynn, 37, was killed in a burglary gone wrong.

Police officers immediately secured the scene and notified family members who could assist with caring for Flynn’s husband and their children, they shared in the release.
Despite deploying police canines, a drone and agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, no potential suspects have been located at this time, according to Fox News.
Tributes have poured in for Flynn, who was a volleyball coach at Tippecanoe Middle School and a substitute teacher at Lifewise Academy.
“She was known for her beautiful smile, warmth, kindness, and the positive impact she had on so many—both in and out of the classroom and on the court,” Tipp City School wrote on Facebook. “Our thoughts are with all who are grieving during this difficult time. 🤍”

The Christian Life Center in Dayton identified Flynn as a “beloved member” of the church in a Facebook announcement by Pastor Jordan Hansen.
“Devoted servant of Jesus, and wife, mom, daughter… and so many other roles she fulfilled with grace, devotion and unconditional love… was murdered in her home,” Hansen said. “Ashley Flynn is with Jesus. Please pray for her husband and two daughters and extended family left behind.
“Please pray for God’s very Presence to bring comfort to an unfathomable situation,” he added, alongside a Bible scripture.
Police have urged anyone with information that could support their homicide investigation to contact Tipp City police at 937-667-311 or the Miami County Communications Center at 937-440-9911.
