Sinners was saintly at the 2026 Black Reel Awards, dominating with a record 14 wins Monday including Outstanding Film, Director and Screenplay along with all three acting categories. See the full list below.
The smash Warner Bros film’s Ryan Coogler tied Gina Prince-Bythewood for the most directing Bolts and joined Jordan Peele (Get Out) and Cord Jefferson (American Fiction) as the only producing-writing-directing triple winners for the same movie. Its sweep of the acting races by Michael B. Jordan (Lead), Wunmi Mosaku (Supporting) and Miles Caton (Breakthrough) was the first since the categories were restructured. Jordan is the third person to win two Bolts for Lead Actor, following Denzel Washington, Chiwetel Ejiofor and the late Chadwick Boseman.
The 14 wins for Sinners beat the Bolts record of 10 set by Black Panther at the 19th Black Reel Awards in 2019. The film’s Autumn Durald Arkapaw became the first woman to win Outstanding Cinematography, Hannah Beachler extended her record with a third win for Outstanding Production Design, and Ludwig Göransson made Black Reels history as the first person to win Outstanding Score and Original Song (“I Lied to You”) in the same year. The latter was shared by Caton, who performed the song, giving him two wins.

There were two other double winners at the 26th annual Bolts: Geeta Gandbhir took Outstanding Documentary for The Perfect Neighbor and Short Film for The Devil Is Busy, while R.T. Thorne won Outstanding Independent Film and Emerging Director for 40 Acres. Both made Black Reels history with those achievements.
Elsewhere, Avatar: Fire & Ash star Zoe Saldaña became the first female actor to win two career Bolts for Outstanding Voice Performance, and Paul Tazewell joined Black Panther‘s Ruth E. Carter as the only multiple winners for Costume Design.
