Divers in the Bahamas got a once-in-a-lifetime glimpse inside a shark’s mouth when a curious predator swallowed their camera during a feeding dive.
Incredible footage shared on social media gives viewers a rare, up-close view from inside the creature’s mouth as it charged at the camera.
On February 9, Andrea Ramos Nascimento, along with a group of divers, was feeding tiger sharks in Freeport, Bahamas.
It wasn’t long before a particularly curious shark charged at his camera, which was attached to a shark-feeding box.
In a video shared by ABC News on X, stunning 360-degree footage captures the moment the camera spins around as the shark swallows it.
Viewers are offered a mesmerising view of the predator’s gills, its razor-sharp teeth and three bewildered divers – including Nascimento – watching the moment unfold from the ocean floor.
According to Fox 13 Tampa Bay, Nascimento explained to Storyful that after the shark spat out the camera, the dive guide had to chase the creature to retrieve it.
The post, which has since amassed over 52K views, has left viewers in awe, with one person commenting: ‘That’s pretty groovy.’

Another wrote: ‘Wait… the camera was inside the shark’s mouth? That’s wild! Glad it survived!’
A third said: ‘That camera got an up-close, way too close, view of the shark’s world—talk about a wild experience.’
They added: ‘Talk about a close call—this diver got a front-row seat to shark feeding time.’
The tiger shark, which can grow up to 18 feet long, is considered one of ‘The Big Three’ most dangerous sharks – along with bull and great white sharks.
The species is second only to the great white in terms of attacks on humans, according to the Florida Museum.
Meanwhile, a Massachusetts lobster diver who was accused of lying about being swallowed by a whale says horrifying footage of a Chilean kayaker who endured the same fate has now ‘vindicated’ him.
Shocking cell phone footage showed an unsuspecting kayaker being seemingly devoured by an enormous humpback whale near Punta Arenas on February 8.
Fortunately, the whale spat Adrian Simancas, 24, out of its mouth just moments after engulfing him and he was unharmed.

Adrian’s panicked father Dell, who recorded the ordeal from another kayak, was heard yelling for him in Spanish – telling his son to remain calm. He quickly paddled over to Adrian, who shouted: ‘Did you see it swallowed me?’
Instances of this nature are highly uncommon as whales are generally non-aggressive creatures, but Adrian’s incident hit close to home for Michael Packard.
In June 2021, Packard was taken to the hospital with soft tissue damage and a dislocated knee after he was gobbled and spit out by a humpback whale.
