A female pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Prestwich, Greater Manchester.
Paramedics and police were at the scene following reports of a collision on Thursday night on Bury New Road, which saw a woman tragically killed in a horror crash.
The main road was taped off in both directions while officers from the Serious Collision Unit attended the scene.
A large cordon was in place between Scholes Lane and Butterstile Lane following the incident.
The woman has not yet been identified while police seek to inform her next of kin.

The suspect is believed to have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and remains in custody overnight to be questioned.
A blue forensic tent was also visible at the scene where the incident happened.
