Hybrid All-Terrain Construction Cranes : All-Terrain Construction Crane

XCMG Machinery has presented a new series of all-terrain construction cranes tailored for the European market. The centerpiece of this launch is the XCA60_EV, which the company identifies as the initial all-terrain construction crane to utilize an oil-electric hybrid powertrain.

The XCA60_EV’s design incorporates a plug-and-play 400V electric system that enables fully electric operation for lifting tasks, which is supported by a 170 kW electric motor. For mobility between sites, a separate dual-engine transport system provides 400 kW of power. This combined approach is claimed to lower fuel usage and associated carbon emissions by as much as forty percent compared to conventional models. At the same time, XCMG Machinery boasts that its innovation maintains full lifting capabilities, without compromising on performance.

Alongside the hybrid model, XCMG highlighted other cranes developed on its G2 technology platform. These include compact models with streamlined physical dimensions and a reduced turning radius to enhance maneuverability on cramped city streets. Features such as dual-hook coordination systems and remote-control operation are integrated to improve efficiency and allow a single operator to manage complex lifts.
