A life-size AI hologram of Stan Lee will give fans the opportunity to interact with the Marvel legend at L.A. Comic Con, simulating his voice, personality, and familiar mannerisms. Developed by Proto Hologram in partnership with the Stan Lee estate, the system is trained on archival footage so that responses mirror the tone and themes Lee expressed during his lifetime.

Housed in a 1,500-square-foot booth titled the “Stan Lee Experience,” the activation offers three-minute conversations and photo opportunities for a fee of $15 to $20. The hologram may also appear in hallways or introduce panels, surprising attendees with unscheduled moments. Organizers emphasize that all responses are carefully vetted, focusing on messages of creativity, imagination, and community. The project aims to celebrate Lee’s legacy while also prompting debate about digital resurrection and how technology shapes cultural memory.
