Netflix has officially greenlit Project Codename, a four-part detective thriller from Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker. The series stars Paddy Considine, Georgina Campbell, and Lena Headey, the last of whom is best known for Game of Thrones. The show, per Deadline, will follow a tormented detective from the Northern city of Bleakford who arrives in London to track a ritualistic serial killer before more lives are claimed. Promising a “profoundly serious” and “stunningly original” story according to its logline, the show is set to deliver a dark, tense atmosphere packed with psychological twists, suspense, and more, the favorite of many of the streaming giant’s users.
Charlie Brooker co-wrote the series with Ben Caudell, Jason Hazeley, Emer Kenny, Daniel Maier, and more. He also serves as executive producer alongside Annabel Jones and Jessica Rhoades, with Mark Kinsella as co-executive producer, Richard Webb producing, and Al Campbell directing.
