Zoë Kravitz’s Caught Stealing co-stars Regina King and Austin Butler would like a moment of silence to catch their breath, please. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kravitz recently recalled an infamous incident when she and her mother, Lisa Bonet, lost their pet snake in Taylor Swift’s bathroom. The catch was the joke that followed. Kravitz suddenly quipped that after restoring Swift’s bathroom ruined by her pet snake, Orpheus, the two “don’t talk anymore,” adding that they “don’t text or whatever.” Visibly shocked for a split second, her costars burst into laughter when Kravitz quickly confirmed that she was indeed joking and that her friendship with Swift remains strong as ever.
When Swift willingly opened the doors of her Beverly Hills mansion to Kravitz and her mother during the LA wildfires, their visit appeared to be serene, until Orpheus saw a chance for adventure and slithered into a hole in Swift’s bathroom banquette. Kravitz described her state of panic and the intense repair involving ripping and scratching the walls that followed in a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Even though Kravitz tried her best to keep the incident under wraps, the singer swiftly caught on, hilariously interrogating Kravitz, “Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in my house and destroyed my bathroom?”. Seth Meyers later joked that Orpheus might get diss tracks in Swift’s next album for wrecking her bathroom; however, the Snake-gate instead added to the humor in their friendship.
Taylor Swift’s bathroom may not have survived the snake, but her friendship with Zoë Kravitz definitely came out unscathed.
Taylor Swift and Zoë Kravitz share an indomitable bond
Zoë Kravitz, while addressing the snake in the room, made it clear that she has not been banned from visiting Taylor Swift’s house after her mom’s pet tore apart the singer’s bathroom. A friendship that began with 2016’s New York City outings, Kravitz and Swift’s relationship also flourished amidst a period when the world came to a standstill. Swift, who quarantined together with Kravitz during COVID-19 in 2020 while Kravitz was filming The Batman, deemed her the “Catwoman of dreams” in a shout-out.

Beyond praising each other’s art and cooking skills, their friendship even extended to Swift’s ‘Midnights’ album, where Kravitz co-wrote, ‘Lavender Haze,’ and ‘Karma.’ Besides Swift’s latest sourdough proclivities, Kravitz also showered her 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ deemed her flashiest release to date, with immense praise in several interviews while promoting her upcoming new thriller Caught Stealing. Directed by Darren Aronofsky, the movie is releasing on August 29, 2025. Meanwhile, though losing the snake was blue, Taylor Swift would agree that loving Kravitz was bread.
