LG Electronics USA has introduced a new generation of self-service ordering terminals — the ‘Gen 2 Self-Ordering Kiosks.’ These devices have been developed from inception to prioritize accessibility for individuals with vision, mobility, and hearing impairments. LG Electronics USA created the self-ordering kiosks in partnership with the consultancy Tech for All. Thus, the design of the terminals was informed by direct input from the disability community.

The hardware folr the ‘Gen 2 Self-Ordering Kiosks’ is offered in multiple configurations, including a motorized pedestal that adjusts height automatically. The technology is also compatible with specialized peripherals such as tactile keypads, screen-reading software, and voice command systems. The displays are engineered for high visibility under various lighting conditions, and the overall design is intended for deployment across diverse sectors like retail, healthcare, and hospitality.
