Airchair has introduced a new model of onboard wheelchair — the Airchair II. This latest version was specifically engineered to satisfy updated federal mandates for lavatory accessibility on commercial aircraft.

The Airchair II is characterized by a lightweight construction and weighs only 6.8 kilograms. Yet, the onboard wheelchair is rated to support a significant load of 250 kilograms and is built to endure sudden stress applications. It incorporates several functional design elements, including a choice of two seat widths, a set of four 360-degree rotating castors with braking mechanisms, a secure footplate, and an antimicrobial coating on the frame. The design prioritizes ease of handling for flight crew within the confined space of an airplane cabin while aiming to provide security and comfort for passengers with reduced mobility during transfers.
