The PaperSeal Pressed range has been created by Graphic Packaging International as a series of high-performance solutions that prioritize performance and cost-efficiency. The packaging is crafted with pressed paperboard trays that are positioned as an alternative to plastic and reduces plastic materials in the composition by 85%, while also prioritizing their ability to be recycled. The high-barrier liner is applied after the tray has been formed and addresses the micro-leakage challenge that’s prevalent on pressed tays to effectively solve the issue.
General Manager, Tray & Cup Solutions – International at Graphic Packaging Tom Garsed spoke on the PaperSeal Pressed saying, “PaperSeal Pressed represents an exciting innovation in paperboard tray technology. Our engineers have solved what was previously considered an impossible challenge, creating an effective hermetic seal on a pressed paperboard tray. This creates new opportunities for brands and retailers to move away from plastic trays for fresh protein categories, where price sensitivity has made this a challenge.
