Devin Haney Files Extortion Lawsuit Against Leena Sayed

Devin Haney’s court showdown involving his child’s mother, Leena Sayed, just hit a new level. Court documents have reportedly emerged, revealing the boxer has filed a lawsuit against his ex, accusing her of extortion and defamation. The athlete’s legal action comes hot on the heels of her restraining order against him over the summer, accusing him of domestic abuse, including during her pregnancy with their daughter Khrome.

Devin Haney Files Lawsuit, Accusing Leena Sayed Of Extortion & More

On Wednesday, August 20, Haney filed a lawsuit against Sayed in Los Angeles, claiming she’s been trying to shake him down for cash and drag his name through the mud. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Devin alleges Sayed threatened “reputational ruin” and restricted his access to their daughter to squeeze money out of him.

The boxing star says Sayed has been spreading “false and defamatory statements” about him, calling her actions “extreme and outrageous.” Devin’s not just stopping at defamation, though. He’s also suing for intentional infliction of emotional distress and seeking unspecified damages. His attorney, Bobby Samini, stated, “Devin Haney has lived his life and built his career with integrity, discipline, and respect,” stressing Haney’s determination to protect his character and his rep as a dad. This legal move comes less than two months after Sayed secured a temporary restraining order against Devin, which we’ll get into next.

Leena’s Recent Restraining Order: Allegations Of Abuse

Back in June, Sayed took Haney to court, filing for a domestic violence restraining order that a judge granted on June 30. In her filing, Sayed claimed Haney had been abusive for over a year, starting in February 2024. She alleged he punched her in the stomach during an argument in their Las Vegas home and kicked her out. Sayed also described a December 2024 incident where Haney allegedly pushed her while she was nine months pregnant, causing her to fall and hurt her tailbone after she refused to hand over her phone. She claimed he then smashed her phone on the floor.

Sayed didn’t stop there. She accused Haney of piercing Khrome’s ears at eight weeks old without her consent, calling it a pattern of reckless behavior toward their child. In her request for a restraining order, Sayed expressed fear for her life, citing a threatening text from Haney saying she’d be “handled in the streets” and a follow-up message, “U will see,” per Complex.

An Ongoing Co-Parenting Feud

This lawsuit is the latest chapter in the pair’s messy co-parenting saga. Before the restraining order, the two were trading shots over Haney’s involvement as a father. Sayed claimed she’s been raising Khrome alone, alleging Haney only asked to see their daughter once a month and even refused to sign her birth certificate. Haney, on the other hand, insisted he’s been fighting to see Khrome but claimed his ex used their daughter as leverage for financial gain.

He stated he’s been supporting Sayed financially despite their split, but felt she was blocking his access to Khrome unless he paid up. Now, both parties are due back in court for the restraining order hearing, and Haney’s lawsuit could escalate things further. Neither Haney nor Sayed has publicly commented on the latest lawsuit or the restraining order ruling, but with these serious allegations flying, this situation is far from over.
