The Top 10 Networking Strategies for An Executive Job Search
For suite professionals, for executives, there’s a veritable gold mine of situations out there that if you take the time to contact these firms and build relationships with their leaders, it can really convert into something extremely profitable for you.

Who are those firms? Private equity, venture capital firms. They’re always hiring and upgrading executive teams, basically in all their portfolio firms. And they often bypass, they typically will bypass job boards to contact people and hire people with whom they have an impression or who are referred by search firms that they’re used to working with.
Identify firms whose investment thesis aligns with your experience. That’s easy to do. Reach out to their talent partners or operating partners directly and let them know what you’ve done, including metrics and impact. What kinds of companies excite you, what stage, scale, or situation you thrive in, because this is going to move you into their trusted talent bench before a role even opens up. It’s all about the relationship. It may not work in this job search. However, build the relationship now before you really need it.
