Not everyone has the chance to witness the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World firsthand, but augmented reality is bridging that gap by bringing history’s marvels within reach of Snapchat users. Snapchat’s AR Studio Paris teamed up with historian and adventurer Bettany Hughes OBE and production company SandStone Global Productions for the launch of Seven Wonders of the Ancient World with Bettany Hughes.
This new series, airing on Channel 5 in the UK, follows Bettany Hughes OBE across three continents, and by scanning on-screen QR codes with their phones, people can experience augmented reality recreations of the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Virtually stepping back in time, documentary viewers can explore and learn in a dynamic setting with this AR experience.
