The Label Trail at Labelexpo Europe 2025 offers a comprehensive, end-to-end exploration of sustainable label production by guiding attendees through the complete lifecycle of a fictitious “Dancing Fish” nutritional supplement brand. Hosted from 16 to 19 September 2025 at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, the initiative unites industry leaders, including Avery Dennison, CERM, CarbonQuota, Esko, Grafisk Maskinfabrik, KURZ, SCRIBOS, and Xeikon, to demonstrate best practices in carbon measurement, material selection, and process automation. By contextualizing each stage within a real-world branding scenario, the Trail emphasizes the integration of low-impact substrates, automated carbon-footprint tracking, and resource-efficient workflows to reduce environmental impact while maintaining production agility.

Participants in each 60-minute guided tour will observe and engage with every phase of label creation, from job briefing and order handling through to prepress, digital printing, embellishment, and finishing. The experience highlights how smart-packaging technologies, such as embedded traceability features and digital content layers, can enhance consumer engagement and bolster brand protection. In addition, industry experts lead sessions on carbon data management, regulatory compliance, and supply-chain transparency, equipping attendees with actionable insights to implement sustainable innovations in their own operations. Tours are capped at 20 participants per slot, with 14 sessions available over the four-day event to ensure an interactive and informative format.
