Mondelēz International is teaming up with Tesco to test a more eco-friendly packaging option for Cadbury Crunchie multipacks in the UK.
The trial, affecting millions of packs, removes the usual plastic overwrap and replaces it with a simple sticker that cuts outer plastic use by 60%. It’s the first time Cadbury has made this kind of change in the UK. Each sticker includes a QR code that links to an online survey, letting shoppers share feedback while still accessing nutrition and recycling details.
“Reducing our packaging and the use of virgin plastic are key pillars in our global ‘Pack Light and Right’ strategy. We know that more sustainable packaging is a key concern of our consumers, which is why we are asking for their valuable feedback on the trial,” said Joanna Dias, Mondelēz UK’s sustainability lead.
