The Wyatt Builds project reimagines a historic early-1900s building in Birmingham, transforming it into a vibrant mixed-use space. Designed by David Baker Architects, the intervention preserves the building’s heritage while inserting contemporary interiors and flexible usage zones. Original façades, structural features, and industrial character are respected, while thoughtful interventions introduce natural light, updated circulation, and shared amenities.

On the inside, ground-level storefronts give way to upper-level lofts and collaborative workspaces, all connected by clean material transitions and modern detailing. The architects layered new public functions onto a preserved shell in a way that enhances community engagement and supports future adaptability. The project has received recognition from Wyatt Builds for its integration of local heritage, civic purpose, and architectural innovation. A prime example of reusing existing fabric to create meaningful, dynamic urban buildings.
