Jonas Brothers Throw Parents Surprise 40th Anniversary Party (Excl)


It’s time to “Celebrate!”

The Jonas Brothers threw their parents, Kevin Jonas Sr. and Denise Jonas, a surprise party for their 40th wedding anniversary, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal.

The black-tie bash was held on Monday, August 11, in the New York metropolitan area, a source tells Us. It included “all their loved ones from near and far,” another source adds.

Kevin Sr., 60, and Denise, 59, married on August 15, 1985, and share four sons: Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas, who make up the boy band, as well as Frankie Jonas.

Kevin, 37, Joe, 35, and Nick, 32, hosted the party one day after kicking off their Grammy-nominated group’s 20th anniversary tour, Greetings From Your Hometown, at MetLife Stadium in their native New Jersey.

During opening night on Sunday, August 10, the Jonas Brothers performed more than two dozen of their greatest hits, including “Lovebug,” “Love Me to Heaven,” “S.O.S.,” “Leave Before You Love Me,” “Year 3000” and “Burnin’ Up.” They also sang tracks from their side projects such as “Cake by the Ocean” by Joe’s band DNCE and Nick’s solo hit “Jealous.”

In addition, the band brought out four surprise guests: Switchfoot, Jesse McCartney, Dean Lewis and Demi Lovato, the last of whom starred with them in the 2008 Disney Channel movie Camp Rock and previously dated Joe.

The Jonas Brothers closed out their career-spanning show with “When You Look Me in the Eyes” as Kevin Sr., Denise, Frankie, 24, and other family members joined them on stage.

The tour — which debuted on the heels of the Friday, August 8, release of their seventh studio album, also titled Greetings From Your Hometown — is currently scheduled to run through mid-November with stops across the U.S. and Canada.

“We are going to do what we can to give [fans] the best show they can possibly enjoy every night,” Joe teased to People ahead of Sunday’s opener. “Really have a fun time on the road, enjoy the fact that we get to do this after all these years and just try to bring something different.”

He added, “Twenty years in now, still being able to do what we love for a living and have so many supportive fans and people that show up for these shows and listen to our new music and stuff, it’s why it keeps us doing what we do. I wake up every morning, [and] I’m ready. I get to do what I love for a living, so I’m happy to keep it going.”
