Altruist and CABN drew inspiration from traditional high West structures like barns, ranches, and log cabins for this project. As such, the Overlook Residences reinterpret classic gable silhouettes using modern cross-laminated timber construction. The design pays homage to the rugged simplicity of mountain living while incorporating CABN’s Core Technology™ — a prefabricated, zero-carbon building system engineered for efficiency, durability, and environmental responsibility. The interiors highlight the natural aesthetic of exposed cross-laminated timber walls and floors, which not only sequester carbon but also evoke a sense of warmth and connection to the surrounding landscape. Large windows enhance the immersive experience, framing views of the forest canopy and reinforcing a treehouse-like ambiance.
