With a single prompt, doodle or photo, Google’s new Gemini Storybook generates a fully illustrated, 10-page digital storybook for a customized bedtime experience. Traditional children’s stories have long helped kids see themselves in the narrative, but AI is reshaping storytelling by enabling families to create deeply personalized, meaningful tales like never before.

To get started, users can begin with a direction like “create a Storybook about my son’s drawing. Make it a futuristic adventure through different galaxies.” Storybook runs on Google’s Imagen 2 model, and a generated book appears with a chat window so that revisions can be made instantly, with download and sharing options built in.

This new feature within the Gemini app is optionally enhanced with custom illustrations and narration.
